Who can participate in the courses?
Everyone may participate – even without any preparation or prior study of the course material. Knowledge of English is required for Italian Art History courses, and a minimum basic level of Italian (A2-B1 of the European CEFR) is required for Cinema History courses.
How much does it cost?
The individual price for each 1 hour and 30 minute lesson is 40 euros. Additional costs may incur if studying in Rome for lessons held on site at various museums, galleries, and archeological sites. Private courses are available which can be customized to the student’s interests for an additional cost. Please email us for additional information or for a quote if interested in this.
Can I choose to pay for only the courses that interest me, or is it required to purchase them all?
You pay for only the course or courses you choose. Participating and paying for all the courses is not necessary. Although, if you are interested in attending all the couses, we do offer packages and subscriptions.
Will the materials be provided by the course?
The majority of the materials required will be free and provided by the course. However, on some occasions, extra books may only be available through purchase.
Is there a final exam?
The structure of the courses does not include a final. However, within each course there are various exercises, readings, and homework that pertain to each course to assist you in retaining the material taught. These can be done individually or in collaboration with other students.
Is it possible to get a package or subscription?
Yes, a subscription is possible starting from a 10% discount. The discount is for the courses only and will not apply to the entrance fees for on site classes. The discount is also not applicable to any extra expenses incurred during a study-stay such as transportation, meals, ect.
How will the visit to Rome be organized?
In agreement with the participants, a stay of variable duration will be organized. The available apartment will be at a discounted price in agreement with the owners. Throughout the morning, afternoon and some evenings, Italian and art lessons, art tours, walks throughout Rome’s city center that showcase sculptural and architectural beauty, dinners of traditional Roman cuisine, tastings of wine and non-tourist aperitifs, moments of meeting with friends and discovering the city, day trips outside of Rome, and more will be offered. Applicants will be presented with a personalized quote based on an itinerary customizable to their interests.
Chi può partecipare ai corsi?
Tutti, anche senza nessuna preparazione. È richiesta solo la conoscenza dell’inglese per i corsi di Storia dell’Arte italiana e un po’ di italiano per i corsi di Storia del cinema, almeno un livello di base A2-B1 del quadro europeo QCER.
Quanto si paga?
Il prezzo individuale per ogni lezione da 1h30 è 40 euro.
Devo seguire tutte le lezioni?
No, si può scegliere quale lezione seguire, si pagheranno solo quelle frequentate.
I materiali saranno forniti dal corso?
La maggior parte dei materiali saranno gratuiti e forniti dal corso, alcuni libri di approfondimento potrebbero essere disponibili solo su vendita.
È previsto un esame finale?
Non un esame, ma una serie di elaborati fatti in cooperazione con gli altri studenti o da soli.
È possibile fare un abbonamento?
Certo, è possibile fare un abbonamento partendo da uno sconto del 10%.
Come sarà organizzata la visita a Roma?
In accordo coi partecipanti si organizzerà un soggiorno dalla durata variabile. L’appartamento disponibile sarà a prezzo scontato in accordo con i proprietari e la mattina, il pomeriggio e alcune sere saranno offerte lezioni di italiano e di arte, tour artistici, passeggiate nei luoghi dell’arte romana, cene della cucina tradizionale romana e non solo, assaggi di vino e aperitivi non turistici, momenti di incontro con amici e scoperta della città. Ai richiedenti sarà offerto un preventivo personalizzato in base ai propri interessi.
